August 3in30

It’s almost August, and that means it’s time for new goals! What about my old ones? Well, let’s just say July was a rough month all around and nothing got done–progress was made, but nothing finished. I’m determined to focus on the positive and that means putting the past behind me and focusing on the future.

The good thing about July is I realized I need to tweak my daily schedule a bit. I’ve started to do so and it has taken a lot of my stress away.

On to a new month!

My goals for August are…almost exactly the same as July.

1. Finish The Impossible Choice. I’ve got about 60K left, which is quite a bit, but I need to get it finished by the end of August so that I can focus on polishing DS in September before the ACFW conference.

2. Keep up with my Bible in 90 Days commitment. Yes, I fell behind this month, but I’m catching up again. I know it is important both to myself, and to God, that I see this through.

3. Get back on my diabetes diet and exercise plan. I actually did better in July–but I didn’t fully commit once things started getting stressful. Commitment. That’s what I need.

So, those are my goals for the month. Hopefully, with some prayer and planning, I’ll have better results to share at the end of August.

What about you? What’s one goal you have for the next month?

Wow – you are ahead of the game! I have NO idea what I’m planning for August – none. At all.

Those are good goals – and attainable too!!

I hope you make your goals, Ralene! :)

My biggest goal for August is to get the majority of my WIP rewritten…and the first 1K words polished so I can enter in a contest. Of course, that entails actually deciding what beginning I’m going with… ;)

My main goal for August is to start our home school on Monday and continue strong through the month. I’ve been spoiled on spending 6-8 hours a day at my computer doing writing-related tasks, so this may be hard for me. And our books haven’t arrived yet . . . but I’m not using that as an excuse to delay. The middle two kids who take the most hands-on teaching have their math and reading already so we can at least do those and add in history and science the following week.

Heather–are you entering the Hook Me! Contest? That entry is something else on my list, but Ralene only asked for one goal ;-)

    Goals, hmm… lol

I want to knock out a dent in revisions, but the deadline is end of September to have it done.

I want to be on that blasted treadmill 4 days a week, consistently. UGH. :)

Aurie–but you always come up with great goals. I know you’ll be fun to follow!

Heather–Are you going to the ACFW conf? We’ll have to keep each other motivated to get our WIPs finished!

Sarah–I’m entering the Hook Me contest too. I entered last year and made Honorable Mention with DS. Eek! This year, I’m going to try again with IC.

Jessica–Ugh! I understand about the treadmill. Mine is the Biggest Loser and Zumba “games” for Xbox360. Zumba is fun, but both kick my rear!

I’m so glad you stopped by today! Is your husband active Army? As you saw, I didn’t change my goals much for August either. I’m hopeful that we’ll both make better progress this month! : )

Hey Lisa, thanks for stopping by! Yes, my husband is active Army–we’re currently stationed in Hawaii. I’ll help keep you accountable! lol…

I think you have wonderful goals, and it is great that you are sticking with them! B90Days is a tough one, I know, but you can get caught up and finish, I have no doubt!
